What’s your story Julia?

Hello, who are you and what brought you to INVERTO?

Hi, all, this is Julia, I am Senior Project Manager in Shanghai and have been with INVERTO for 7 years now.

I belong to a minority in China and grew up in Inner Mongolia, which crosses China from west to east and is one of the most important cattle breeding areas there. I went to Shanghai for my studies and started a career as a consultant after graduation. I worked in European consulting firms, such as French and Italian companies, and served clients in the private equity, manufacturing and consumer goods sectors.

I found that German companies were in the top 3 in various sectors. I was very curious about the “German style” and “German executives” and thought about what a consulting firm with German DNA could be. Then in 2015, a headhunter approached me and offered me a job at INVERTO! And lo and behold, I started at INVERTO without hesitation!

What are you doing at INVERTO?

As Senior Project Manager in China, I support the local clients together with our team in Shanghai and manage more and more local workflows within our global projects. On the one hand, we apply the INVERTO approach and use our expertise to support the local client team; on the other hand, we support our European team to better integrate the local workflows and understand the local needs. This is always a challenge, as China has a very different culture and project pace. However, with our strong team, we have been able to complete one project after another to our satisfaction.

What was your best birthday present and why?

The most impressive birthday gift came from my daughter. On my birthday 2 years ago I was on a business trip and couldn’t celebrate with the family. She was 7 years old at the time and sent me a video of herself composing an incredible song and playing the cello! I was so proud and overwhelmed!

Do you have a favorite place and why is it your favorite?

I am a Buddhist, the altar is my meditation place. Whenever I am anxious, sad or exhausted, I do a chanting and I get peace and strength.

You found the job of your dreams at INVERTO, of course – if INVERTO wouldn`t exist, what would have become of you and why? Any hidden dreams?

If I wasn’t a consultant, I probably would have become a teacher. I like children and enjoy discovering things with them. In my summer internship during college I taught English in elementary school, it was so much fun and the kids liked me too. I also earned my tuition money for the semester by working. Since then, I also started to care about children’s education, my colleague and I donate to the poor children in Yunnan province for continuous education every year. Any colleague who is interested is welcome to join us!
